“Histories of Newark” Published

Sunday, I visited the Newark Historical Society’s Museum on Main Street to acquire a copy of a new title, Histories of Newark, 1758 – 2008, published by the Delaware Heritage Commission and the City of Newark. The attractive title will serve as a valuable reference and it is enjoyable to read.  By-the-way, if you’re on Main Street stop in and see the displays since they are informative.  It was a good weekend for acquiring research materials for my collection.

  1. Hey Mike, I had no idea that Newark Historical Society had a building on main street; I guess I’ll have to walk down the entire length of main st to re-familarize myself with all of the shops and buildings. I’ll have to check out the museum and take a look at the Histories of Newark title. Just to let you know, the University of Delaware’s Lincoln Club is having its black-tie annual dinner on Thursday, Febuary 14th starting at 6:30 PM at the Dupont Country Club. The speaker will be James Swanson of the Heritage Foundation, the topic will be, “The Lincoln Assassination: Memory and Myth”. Just google the Lincoln Club of Delaware for contact info if you are interested; I am possibly attending on behalf of my employer, who is a sponsor, should be a fun night!

    🙂

  2. Andy: Definitely check out the exhibit and also thanks for letting me know about the James Swanson talk. I’ll check that out for it should be insighful.
