The marker, part of the remembrance and reconciliation project, acknowledged five lynchings in the capital city.   The names of the  African-American men were:  John  Sims, George Briscoe, Wright Smith, Henry Davis, and King Johnson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> The unveiling in the center of Annapolis took place on Calvert Street across from the former site of the Anne  Arundel County Jail.
