For Chesapeake Bay Week 2019, Maryland Public Television (MPT) aired a special on the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal. The special aired on April 22 at 9 p.m. I was pleased to have the opportunity to assist MPT with this project by providing research assistance as the documentary crew planned the production. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is the MPT preview about \u201cThe little-known but fascinating story of the C & D Canal, a critically-important 14-mile long trade route used extensively by international shipping. It\u2019s called \u201cBaltimore\u2019s back door\u201d because it\u2019s a money-saving shortcut between the port of Baltimore and points north via the Atlantic Ocean.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
